Social Hackathon: DeGroote and the Community

3GR0-Student Experience and Development III is a new course which provides experiential activities for students, encouraging development and application of foundational knowledge and highly sought skills. The social hackathon is an experiential learning opportunity for student groups to innovate solutions and generate new and exciting ideas, addressing a community challenge.

This year, students will focus on how local non-profits and grass-roots organizations can inspire greater civic engagement and volunteerism among young people. Explore the videos below to gain an understanding of some of the challenges our community partners face, regarding volunteerism engagement post-pandemic. Stay tuned for videos of our students’ solutions!
